One of the many childhood perks of living in Florida — aside from free balloons at Publix and no heavy-duty winter gear — is going to the beach.
Mommy and Daddy sometimes take Lulu and Chu to the Boynton Beach. We don’t like the nearby Lantana Beach very much because it is often overcrowded, the ocean floor is treacherous and it requires an unnecessary trip to the parking meter if we stay longer than four hours.
Lulu is beginning to enjoy these trips more and more. When she was younger the sand used to get in her flips and she would freak out. Now she likes to collect shells by the seaside and build sand “fingies” (slang for “thingies).
Chu, on the other hand, has perma-frown from the glaring sun (see above) so he prefers to relax under the umbrella with an afternoon siesta.
Like father like son.
